MAYSTAR AND THE 9 BLOODSTONES
New Age Female Super Action Hero
Logline: Set in the jungles of Ghana in the early 1700’s, a prophecy from the Witch Doctor’s fire ceremony reveals a baby will be born in the future – the Maystar – who possesses supernatural powers and will transport back in time to save her ancestors from evil slave hunters and opposing native tribes.
synopsis: season 1 / episode 1
Starting off in the jungles of Ghana In the early 1700’s, the Witch Doctor sits in front of a fire as Ewe Tribe members dance around in a fire dance ritual.
Occasionally casting magic dust in the fire, everyone sees images rising up from the smoke and flames; a slave ship, Eurpean sailors, and slaves being captured.
Knowing that evil is on the horizon the Witch Doctor cast a handful of special magic dust into the fire … the chanting, drum beats, and dancing all comes to a halt … as an image of a crying baby appears in the smoke above the flames … the Maystar is born … hundreds of years into the future.
Edem, a middle-aged good witch tosses the bloodstone of healing into the fire, thus allowing the Maystar baby to absorb its special powers. Her twin sister, Sedem, tosses the bloodstone of protection into the fire, and again, allowing the Maystar baby to absorb special powers.
In present day Ghana the main character is Emerald, a 15-year-old girl that lives in a jungle orphanage and has a special connection to all the wild animals. Her favorite sport is soccer and she always dresses in uniform with her soccer ball always close by.
She is at the age when she is just beginning to notice she has special powers from the two bloodstones – yet she has no idea she is the Maystar and knows nothing about the bloodstones.
Back in 1700’s Ghana, Captain Levi and his crew arrives to the coastline in his Dutch slave ship. The Dutch sailors are greeted by the French Royal Army Commander, Raphael Vauban who has set up a slave hunting and prison station under the guise of Louis Layfette, the French Naval Commander.
The Witch Doctor informs the Ewe King that evil looms thrrough the jungle and it is time to summon the Maystar to save their tribe … as per the prophecy revealed from fire ceremony. The Ewe King believes nothing the Witch Doctor tells him … it’s all too preposterous.
Nevertheless, the Witch Doctor goes into the jungle and creates a fire gauntlet that allows him to travel into the future. He takes with him Sedem, and a young strong trusted Ewe Warrior … his name is Daylight (the King’s nephew).
The trio appear out from the end of the fire gauntlet and wind up at the exact same location in the jungle, but in present day. They search for the Maystar to take her back in time. Emerald does not know she is being tracked down to be lured back to the past.
Emerald has a bizarre encounter in the jungle with the Witch Doctor, Sedem, and Daylight … at first impression she thinks they are husband and wife with their full-grown son.
With time running out before the fire gauntlet time portal expires, Emerald is pressed to join the trio to go back in time to save her ancestrial tribe.
Emerald expresses extreme reluctance and does not want to enter the fire gauntlet. With options and time running out, the Witch Doctor secretly transforms himself into a tiger, which frightens Emerald into running down the fire gauntlet just before the flames burn out.
synopsis: season 1 / episode 2
Unbeknownst to the Ewe King and his tribe, danger looms in the distant horizon as slave hunters expand their scope of attack and close in on their tribal grounds.
Staring at the sundial to see if the Witch Doctor, Sedem and Daylight return before the high noon deadline, the entire Ewe tribe are gathered around to witness the execution of Edem if the trio does not return in time and/or if the Maystar’s existence proves to be untrue.
Sedem is first to appear out the jungle and informs her tribe that the Maystar does in fact exist.
The Ewe King sees no evidence of a baby so he motions his head, prompting warriors to fetch Edem from captivity.
Sedem strongly pleads to the Ewe King and tribe that there is no baby, the Maystar has blossomed into a young lady.
Hearing enough rubbish, the Ewe King motions his head to his warriors, and Sedem and Edem are tied together in preparation to be burned to the stake.
Daylight appears out of the jungle and immediately is interrogated by his uncle, the Ewe King. Daylight emphatically expresses the Maystar exists.
Expressing deep dissatisfaction with Daylight’s lack of evidence, the Ewe King motions his head and Daylight is forced to his knees and has several spears pressed on his neck.
Suddenly, Emerald comes running frantically out of the jungle, screaming “tiger, tiger” as she nervously peers backwards.
Wearing her soccer uniform and carrying her soccer ball, Emerald stops in her tracks when she notices the tribe is dressed in ancient ways … she deficiently feels like a fish out of water.
Sedem pleads, “that’s the Maystar” … Daylight pleads, “that’s the Maystar.” The Ewe King is not buying it.
Suddenly a tiger appears out of the jungle and walks slowly … then magically transforms into the Witch Doctor … giving the Ewe King a small chuckle of surprise.
While the Ewe King and tribe start sizing up the situation about Emerald being the Maystar … extreme conflict is occurring on the beach between the French Amry and the Dutch sailors.
Captain Levi in under contract with Louis Layfette to transport a ship load of slaves from the French Army, but there are no slaves on the beach. Raphael Vauban has enlisted the services of the fearless fighting Agamah tribe to do his slave hunting … their leader is Xando.
Captain Levi is furious and feels he is being indefinitely delayed on the beach and speaks to his men that the French are holding back a secret and purposely keeping them in the dark.
Running out of patience, Captain Levi has a showdown on the beach with Raphael Vauban, which incites Xando to take center stage in the struggle.
Back at the village the Ewe King orders the fire to be lit around the feet of Sedem and Edem whoe are standing tied to the stake. Emerald is thrusted down on her knees in front of the King and Daylight is by her side, still with spears pointed at his neck.
Then suddenly the scene is interrupted when several Ewe warriors appear from the jungle carrying an unknown young warrior from another tribe (Yafeu). He as cut ropes around his wrists and is badly hurt and unresponsive … definitely he was bound as a slave and escaped from his captors.
To weak to communicate, the King insists the Witch Doctor revive the mysterious warrior. The Witch Doctor defers to the Maystar as the only person that can help. As the fire grows around Sedem and Edem’s feet they scream out to the Maystar for help.
The Witch Doctor explains to the Maystar that its her time to mature. She guardedly raises one arm towards the fire, and with the power of the bloodstone of protection, a force field surrounds Sedem and Edem.
Simultaneously, the Maystar places her palm on the mysterious warrior’s chest and the power of the bloodstone of healing begins to work.
Too much energy is being zapped from the young Maystar and she soon passes out.
synopsis: season 1 / episode 3
Terror continues to reign throughout the jungle as slave hunters burn down villages and capture families for slavery.
At the Eve village Emerald and Yafeu lay in a comatose state in a grass hut with the Witch Doctor, Sedem, Edem and Daylight trying to size up the situation. After the Witch Doctor evaluates Emerald, he bares the bad news to everyone … “The Maystar is asleep but she has no soul … her soul has traveled back to the future.”
The Witch Doctor starts to prepare a third bloodstone … the bloodstone of soul. The Witch Doctor also has created a magical staff with a circular “water eye” on top that allows viewing into the future.
Daylight enters back into the grass hut and has retrieved a white dove. Sedem and Edem fasten the blood stone of soul around the white dove’s neck, and set it free … it flies into the water eye and disappears into the future … in search of Emerald.
Back at the beach, Raphael Vauban tries to make amends with Captain Levi and shares a bottle of wine and bread. Captain Levi knows Raphael is trying to con him … but he allows the charade to take place.
Raphael gives a hint to Captain Levi that he will tell the truth about why there are no slaves to be transported back to island of St. Dominque … but makes him wait a bit longer.
Meanwhile, Emerald resumes her life at the orphanage and goes back to her village school. She tries to explain to her friends about the events she experienced … thinking everything was a dream. She takes a few of her friends into the jungle and goes to the place where she ran down the fire gauntlet … but no one is believing her … and all are agreeing it was a dream.

Back at the beach, Captain Levi is becoming too restless and organizes a small search party to enter the jungle to figure out what the French are up to. As short while into their journey, they discover about 100 slaves mining for gold while the French Army stands guard, making sure everyone works and doesn’t escape.
Immediately, Captain Levi and his men are found out by the French and are held captive momentarily.
Raphael Vauban orders his men to take Captain Levi to his jungle gazebo what the rest of the Dutch sailors are escorted back to the beach. In the gazebo Raphael Vauban gives Captain Levi a proposal … “you and your men stay her in the jungle to guard slaves mining for gold … and consider your contact with Louis Lafayette fulfilled” … and Raphael Vauban tosses Captain Levi 3 pouches full of gold.
The real truth is … the French discovered a cave full of diamonds, rubies and emeralds … but they only revel to the Dutch they are mining for gold … and never want the Dutch to leave and go back to civilization. Soon afterwards, two French galleons enter the harbor and flank the Dutch slave ship … now there is no need for the Dutch to transport slaves back to the island of St. Dominque.
While Emerald lays asleep in he bed at the orphanage, the white dove appears at the window sill … flies over to Emerald … allowing the bloodstone of soul to slip into Emeralds chest … it glows a faint red then disappears into her body.
On the outskirts of the Ewe village, the Witch Doctor has created another fire ceremony, with Sedem, Edem, and Daylight present. Over the fire the image of Emerald appears as she sleeps back at her orphanage.
One at a time, he tosses the bloodstone of fight, and then the bloodstone of strength into the fire. Both bloodstones glow a faint blue.
The bloodstone of strength is absorbed into Emeralds right bicep and the bloodstone of fight is absorbed into Emarald’s left bicep.
Soon, Emerald transports back to the past and resumes her life as the Maystar with the Ewe tribe … now she possesses the power of 5 bloodstones.
